U.S. Discretionary Spending 2023
(In Billions)
Over 4 Times as many soldiers committed suicide upon completing their service as died in actual combat due to lack of investment in healthcare and job training for veterans. Decreasing military interventions will save tens of thousands of young Americans and allow us to lead the world in creation instead of destruction. In 2023 we gave more money to Ukraine than we spent on K-12 education, Child Nutrition, the EPA and Childhood Cancer Research combined. We spend over 1.3 TRILLION dollars on the military while tens of thousands of children die unnecessarily each year due to our failure to fund vital resources.

We spend more money on Defense than the next 12 countries COMBINED. This doesn’t include the massive funds dedicated to Military Construction, Secret Intelligence Agencies, Homeland Security, Veterans Affairs, and State and Foreign Operations. Further Supplemental Spending Packages to supply Ukraine weapons and training alone have totaled over $100 Billion in recent years.

Attacks from abroad are extremely rare. Meanwhile our children die of preventable diseases, starve, suffer exploitation, are sex-trafficked, neglected, and murdered every second of every day. All while our children’s future is placed in jeopardy by environmental pollution, nuclear arms proliferation, and the threat of superbugs. Demanding change is our responsibility. We must act now!
Moral -Strategic- Economical
Prioritizing our sons and daughters over excessive military spending is a strategic investment in our countries future. Not only will it save lives, providing our children with adequate education, healthcare, housing and nutrition will lead to innovation and massive economic growth.
